"Advanced" is an album of new mixes of tracks previously released by UK electronic artist Advance One during the past ten years.

All the tracks have been remixed and reworked, enhancing them with new sounds and extra melodies, and in some cases changing the whole style of the track but building on the original theme.

The album begins with the gentle chillout of "Before The Rain" which acts as an introduction to the new version of "After The Rain", adding new lead melodies to the original to create an uplifting beginning to the album.

Next is a new, tougher version of one of the earliest Advance One tracks, "Mirage", originally written in October 1999 and reworked several times since.

The first of two new versions of Advance One's 2001 collaboration with Zu-Malta, "Afterwards-Day! (dub mix)" is a positive trance tune focusing on the main melody of the original. "Of The World" follows in a much more chilled out, emotional mix, then "See The Stars" returns to full-on trance with even more energy and atmosphere than the original.

"Bass Lift" brings a funky trance vibe followed by "Velocity", in a much more experimental form which takes the 2002 original into new places, even shifting speed half-way through into a heart-pumping rush.

Next follows the second new version of "Afterwards-Day!" to appear on the album. The "dark chillout vocal mix" is a very different mix from the first: a dark, moody track featuring the vocals of Helen Malta reimagined as a haunting siren's song.

"Leaving This Place" takes the original track into harder, darker trance territory. "Come Back" is an emotional, chilled new version of the trance original. "New Dawn" is an uplifting, powerful trance track which expands on the original melody.

"Evolution" ends the album, moving through various electronic styles as it progresses. This track reflects the main theme of the Advance One project - building on the past but always moving forward, changing, and looking to the future.
